Instagram has rolled out a feature users have been asking for: the ability to edit comments after posting. You get a 15-minute window from the moment you hit send.
During this timeframe, you can make as many corrections as needed. Once edited, the comment shows a note indicating it’s been revised, but previous versions remain invisible to other users. The feature applies to text comments only; if your message includes photos or other media, you can only edit the text portion.

The announcement came directly from Instagram’s official channels. It addresses one of the most frequent requests from the community, especially for those who catch typos after hitting post or want to refine their take after it goes live.
Not every social platform offers this. Some allow unlimited edits, others don’t permit them at all. Instagram went for a middle ground, limiting edits to a short window to balance user flexibility with transparency in conversations.
The update is already active for users in the rollout. As usual with new features, availability might vary by region or app version. If you don’t see the option yet, check for app updates or wait for the full rollout to complete.
