Proton has published its roadmap for the first half of 2026, with updates coming across its entire product lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Proton Drive<\/strong> is seeing the most tangible progress. Downloads of shared files are already noticeably faster than earlier this year thanks to a new SDK, and the coming months will bring document and folder syncing on macOS, a Linux app, and shared Drive for families and business accounts proton<\/a>, designed to replace Google Drive in collaborative settings with end-to-end encryption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Proton Pass<\/strong> is getting smarter autofill: iframe support will help recognize login fields on non-standard websites like banking portals and enterprise tools. Folders for organizing credentials, aliases, and notes are also coming, plus an integrated SSH agent that automatically syncs keys across devices with biometric unlock from the terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Proton Mail<\/strong> will gain category view (Primary, Social, Promotions, Newsletters, Transactions), enabled by default but optional. Full-body email search on mobile is on the way, with queries staying local on your device. For people leaving Gmail, you’ll be able to reply and send from your Gmail address directly within Proton Mail without going back to your old account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Proton Calendar<\/strong> is being rebuilt from scratch to introduce offline mode and a more modern architecture. The work will stretch through all of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Proton VPN<\/strong> is working on a new WireGuard codebase with fewer disconnections and better anti-censorship capabilities, coming in beta across all platforms in the coming months. The Linux app is getting a refreshed interface and support for the Stealth protocol, which makes VPN traffic harder to detect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lumo<\/strong>, Proton’s AI assistant, is preparing to arrive on desktop and will expose an API for third-party integrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Worth noting: some of these features appeared in Proton’s autumn 2025 roadmap published in October.
