OBS Studio’s audio mixer got a complete rebuild in version 32.1, released on April 2. The vertical layout is now the default, but you can switch to horizontal via a toolbar button. There’s a dedicated button for audio monitoring and the ability to pin sources: global ones stay visible at all times, while others can be locked as needed. For those managing complex scenes, the mixer now lets you display hidden sources or ones not present in the active scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WebRTC Simulcast and Studio Mode<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The other major addition is WebRTC simulcast support, which lets you stream multiple quality levels on a single track using the WHIP protocol. In practical terms, WebRTC streamers can offer different resolutions to viewers without multiplying outgoing connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studio Mode also got improvements: sources in the preview now display even when using this mode, making it easier to prepare scenes before going live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automation and Fixes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Partial Canvas support in obs-websocket opens new possibilities for automating remote productions. Undo and redo actions are back for various scene element properties, including the scaling filter, blend mode, and deinterlacing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among general changes, the default bitrate for streaming bumps up to 6000 kbps, security for browser sources with local files has been strengthened, and the plugin manager now lets you enable or disable missing plugins. Version 32.1.1, already available, fixes some audio mixer issues that emerged right after release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n
