Flow, the YouTube client for Android with locally-managed recommendations, updates to version 2.0.5 with a substantial list of improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most visible change involves gestures in the video player: pinch-to-zoom is now available for zooming, and swiping up enters fullscreen mode, two shortcuts that smooth out the overall experience. Voice search arrives alongside an app icon selector and the option to disable the home feed for users who prefer a more minimal approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SponsorBlock and Playback<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For SponsorBlock users, this release adds a manual skip button for sponsored segments, handy when automatic skipping misses something. There’s also a new toggle for voice stabilization and the ability to continue video playback during phone calls, managing audio focus independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FlowNeuro and Two Separate Builds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The local recommendation engine, FlowNeuro, has been modularized to generate more targeted suggestions, with learning now based on content tags as well. On the distribution side, Flow now offers two variants: the classic GitHub build with automatic update checking, and a FOSS build without this feature, designed for F-Droid and IzzyOnDroid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other improvements include deduplication of Shorts in the subscriptions feed, faster loading, a quick actions menu with long-press on video cards, more download resolution options, and various stability fixes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flow is free, open source under the GPLv3 license, and requires neither a Google account nor proprietary services. The APK is available from GitHub<\/a> or, for the FOSS version, from compatible repositories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n
